Our weekly music, drama and dance classes for children aged 0–6 combine live music, creative movement, singing and imaginative play in a structured, nurturing environment. We are also thrilled to bring the magic directly to you with our specialised children’s parties, perfect for birthdays and special celebrations across the neighbourhood!
We proudly serve families, nurseries, and venues throughout SW4, SW8, and SW11 – including Clapham, Battersea, South Lambeth, Nine Elms, Stockwell, Balham, and Vauxhall.
Each session is thoughtfully designed to support early social, emotional and cognitive development while remaining joyful, playful and engaging. We believe children learn best when they are genuinely absorbed in what they are doing. And that performing arts should always be both enriching and fun!

Family Sparkles Music (0-6 years)
A joyful mixed-age music class for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers to enjoy together. Family Sparkles offers the convenience of one class for the whole family, while ensuring every child is appropriately supported and challenged.
We use the same much-loved songs across our early years programme, adapting activities to suit the ages present. Babies internalise musical concepts such as pulse, pitch, dynamics, tempo and rhythm through gentle movement and repetition. Toddlers reinforce these ideas through singing, dancing and interactive play. Pre-schoolers begin to understand and apply these concepts more consciously through structured games and creative, child-led moments.

Preschool Sparkles Dance (3-5 years)
A creative and energetic dance class designed to nurture self-expression, imagination and confidence in our pre-school Sparkles . Each session supports growing body awareness, coordination and a love of movement in a fun and encouraging environment.

Classes follow the EYFS framework and are built around familiar early years themes such as Dinosaurs, People Who Help Us and Transport, helping children connect movement to the world around them.
Each class includes a gentle warm-up with stretching and movement exercises, simple choreographed dances, action songs, and the use of props to spark creativity. Carefully selected, high-quality music underpins every class, supporting both the mood of the theme and your child’s musical and physical development.
Classes Run by Your Local Head Sparkle!
Jhanei Sparkles is a singer/songwriter who graduated with a BA(Hons) in Popular Music from the University of Hull. She is a classically trained singer but enjoys singing popular music, most commonly in the style of R&B, neo-soul and jazz. Jhanei also has a love for East Asian culture and studies Korean in her free time. As a result, she performs songs in Korean – one of her many talents along with playing the piano and guitar, and dancing in a variety of styles including belly dance, hip-hop, ballet and contemporary.
Jhanei has performed multiple times on the radio for BBC Humberside and BBC Radio 3 with the University of Hull’s Chapel Choir. She also achieved 2nd place in the Mandarin singing competition “Chinese Song UK” which had national coverage in China. In her performance work Jhanei works with charity organisations such as Nurses Association Jamaica (UK) and care settings for those with Dementia and Alzheimer’s. In addition, she has gained experience looking after children by working as a nanny through the company Koru Kids.
Jhanei says, “I am an advocate for introducing music and performance into the lives of children. I believe the effects music and performance have on a child’s development are fundamental in their growth, as they have a positive impact on their physical, mental and emotional development. I believe we all have a duty to help raise the next generation to be the best version of themselves and love to have the opportunity to support this through teaching with Lucy Sparkles & Friends.”

What Happens in a Lucy Sparkles & Friends Dance Class?
- Creative, themed activities based on popular Early Years topics, with a new theme every two weeks and an overarching seasonal theme

What should I bring to class?
Simply bring yourself, your child, and the usual essentials for a trip out with your little one. Most importantly, come prepared to sing, connect, and have a fun and engaging time together!
Can siblings join?
Yes! And we even offer a sibling discount. Contact your local Head Sparkle for full details.
Do I need to book in advance?
We recommend booking in advance as many classes fill quickly, particularly during term time.
How long is the class?
Classes range between 30 to 45 minutes depending on the age group.
What happens if I miss a class?
Up to two missed classes per term can be made up at another age-appropriate class in the timetable (if space is available). This is on the condition that you let us know by email or text at LEAST two hours before the start of the missed class.
How will my child benefit?
Sparkles Music classes support early development in a variety of areas, including:
- Fostering a life-long love of music and musicality.
- Building socio-emotional and cooperative skills.
- Developing confidence and a secure bond with caregivers.
- Increasing sensory, spatial, and bodily awareness.
- Enhancing memory, coordination, and fine and gross motor skills.
- Supporting speech, language, listening, and concentration skills.
- Laying the foundations for outstanding musical development.
What’s the difference between a term ticket and a trial ticket?
A term ticket guarantees your place in a class for the full term, allowing your child to benefit from our progressive weekly curriculum. Term tickets also include up to two make-up classes per term. A trial ticket is for your child’s first class in each class type only. Children may trial Music, Drama, and Dance once each.
When is the best time to start classes?
Our Family and Baby Sparkles classes welcome children from birth. Early exposure to music gently stimulates sensory development and supports bonding between baby and caregiver. Some families choose to begin from around three months, when babies are more alert and responsive. There is no perfect time to start – whenever you join, you will be welcomed into a warm and nurturing environment.
Do I need to come every week?
Our Sparkles curriculum is weekly and progressive. For maximum benefit, we recommend consistent attendance, as the skills taught in each class build on those learned in previous weeks.
What to do if my baby is sleeping?
Even if your baby falls asleep before the start of the class, we encourage you to come along anyway! Singing along helps you learn songs and activities to enjoy together at home, and it’s also a great chance to socialise and connect with other parents. Plus, you’ll discover how early music exposure supports your baby’s overall development and musicality.

The ages of the children ranged from 3 years to 7 years and they were all transfixed for the whole time. Ben Sparkles has been with The Park Gardens Nursery for more than a year as a peripatetic singing teacher. He takes the sessions very seriously and is able to manage children of different ages in groups of twelve. He uses a variety of instruments, a parachute and lots of visual aids. Some of the songs are original and they are mixed with familiar ones. We had a zoom party with Lauren Sparkles for my 1 year old’s birthday and it was brilliant. In these times when we cannot be together for such events, this was a great way to celebrate with the family, in various households around the UK. I would like to thank Lauren for providing the best birthday party I have ever had – and it was for my 70th birthday. It had long been a family joke that I had always wanted to be a ballet dancer- never a chance! I had come across Lauren as she was my little granddaughter’s favourite ballet teacher. I approached Lauren to see if she could help me throw a surprise Zoom ballet lesson party for the family.
Suffice to say it was a ginormous hit, we all had so much fun. Lauren pitched it perfectly for an age range from 3 – 70. I run a little Montessori nursery in North London and the highlight of our week is our music class with one of Lucy’s friends, Harry Sparkles. The children are completely captivated for the entire session! Harry brings such enthusiasm and energy into the room and is so personable he is able to get the shyest of little beans to join in. Armed with his guitar, saxophone and clarinet, as well as a bag full of props, the children have learned so much. We have had to rotate the days that he comes so everyone can have a turn! I admit I had doubts how into it Honey would be as she hasn’t enjoyed zoom calls with grandparents or nursery teachers all that much but the fact you were so good at capturing their attention and that numbers were restricted i think it made it the perfect storm to work out brilliantly. Our daughter has been going to Lucy Sparkles music and dance classes since she was a baby, so there was no other option but to choose Lucy Sparkles & Friends to entertain at her 4th Birthday party. We had a princess theme and Tamara Sparkles came as Snow White and transfixed 15 three to four year olds for a magical hour that went by in 5 minutes. We also had the most superb face painter and the combination of both couldn’t have been more perfect. We had our birthday party with Jhanei yesterday and I just wanted to write to say how very pleased we are with how things went. Jhanei was incredibly professional and such a sweet and lovely person not to mention absolutely AMAZING with all the children. She was so patient and kind with our group of rowdy 3-year-olds and it truly felt like she tailored her service to be exactly right for this particular group of children. Jhanei Sparkles came for our daughter’s party yesterday and she was absolutely fantastic! There were loads of kids of all different ages and with different interests and she was just brilliant. She knew how to help the shy kids (including my daughter) get involved without being intimidating, she kept the more active ones busy and engaged and it just made the whole party not only fun for the kids, but also relaxing for the adults.
